Metastable quark–antiquark droplets within the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model
Chemically non–equilibrated quark–antiquark matter is studied within the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model. The equations of state of non–strange (q = u, d) and strange (q = s) qq systems are calculated in the mean–field approximation. The existence of metastable bound states with zero pressure is predicted at finite densities and temperatures T ∼ 50 MeV. It is shown that the minimum energy per particle...
متن کاملDetection of Negative Charge Carriers in Superfluid Helium Droplets: The Metastable Anions He*– and He2*–
Helium droplets provide the possibility to study phenomena at the very low temperatures at which quantum mechanical effects are more pronounced and fewer quantum states have significant occupation probabilities. Understanding the migration of either positive or negative charges in liquid helium is essential to comprehend charge-induced processes in molecular systems embedded in helium droplets....
متن کاملMetastable Equilibria
We define a refinement of Nash equilibria called metastability. This refinement supposes that the given game might be embedded within any global game that leaves its local best-reply correspondence unaffected. A selected set of equilibria is metastable if it is robust against perturbations of every such global game; viz., every sufficiently small perturbation of the best-reply correspondence of...
متن کاملThe forgotten Potts models
The q = 10 and q = 200 state Potts models coupled to 2d gravity are investigated numerically and shown to have continuous phase transitions, contrary to their behavior on a regular lattice. Critical exponents are extracted and possible critical behavior for general q-state Potts models coupled to gravity is discussed.
متن کاملThe Glassy Potts Model
We introduce a Potts model with quenched, frustrated disorder, that enjoys of a gauge symmetry that forbids spontaneous magnetization, and allows the glassy phase to extend from Tc down to T = 0. We study numerical the 4 dimensional model with q = 4 states. We show the existence of a glassy phase, and we characterize it by studying the probability distributions of an order parameter, the binder...
